For new & small business owners
Most small business owners are too close to their own operation to see what's actually working, what's leaking money, and what to do next. We give you the outside view — then build you the tools to keep it.
You're setting things up now. We help you decide what to track before bad habits form, so you're never guessing what your business is telling you.
Book a Free AssessmentYou've been running it a while and something's not moving. We find the specific thing — not "work harder," an actual answer — and help you fix it.
Book a Free AssessmentA short conversation — how long you've been in business and where things stand right now. Nothing to prepare.
A Zoom session where we go through your actual numbers together — have them handy, whatever form they're in.
Depending on how you're currently tracking things, that determines what's next: consulting, a custom tool, or both.
Most owners are sitting on more information than they realize — job history, repeat customers, what sells and when. We show you how to actually use what you're already getting to grow.
A landscaping business wasn't tracking jobs and customers without ever seeing what the data actually showed — no clear picture of who bought what, how often, or what tended to go together. Once we built a simple system around his real customer data, the patterns were obvious — he started bundling the services people already bought together into packages.
Stop changing the way you work just to fit someone else's software. We build practical tools around the way your business actually operates — giving you what you need on your phone to manage:
You run the business. Your data stays yours. And now you can actually see what's working.
Pricing is based on what your business actually needs — you'll get a real number after we understand your operation, not a generic quote.
Not a slow Tuesday you still checked your phone on. A real day — gone, unreachable — and everything still runs. Right now, if something happened to you tomorrow, could anyone else pick up where you left off?
That's the actual goal here. Not a nicer dashboard — a business that doesn't depend on you personally holding every piece of it in your head. Once you can see what's really happening, you can finally step back far enough to remember why you started it.
I'm Abel Cruz Jr.
My first lessons in business came from working in my dad's grocery stores as a kid. I actually remember learning what 75 cents was because that's how much the Sunday newspaper cost.
Since then, I've served in the United States Marine Corps, spent more than 19 years in retail management, owned beauty salons, discount stores and gift shops, and ran a café where I was also the main cook. I worked in banking and became a top Personal Banker, then built a career in real estate and eventually owned a real estate brokerage.
I've been behind the counter, in the kitchen, managing employees, serving customers, selling, and signing the checks.
And through all of it, I've always been interested in the same thing: why does something work — and why doesn't it? I enjoy understanding how people think, asking questions, and taking the time to explain things in a way that makes sense.
That's why I created What Gets Measured.
I'm not here to tell you how to do your trade. You know your trade. I'm here to help you step outside of the day-to-day operation and see the business behind it.
Sometimes the answer is in your numbers. Sometimes it's your process. Sometimes you're paying for a tool you aren't using. And sometimes something really is missing. Before we add anything, let's understand what you already have.
You don't need more information just for the sake of having it. You need to understand the information that can help you make better decisions.
Because what gets measured gets improved.
A short conversation is enough to know if there's something worth fixing. No pressure, no pitch deck.
